Hi everyone, my name is Shi and I work in the lettings department. As a Junior Lettings negotiator, my main job is arranging and conducting viewings with potential tenants.
As a person I am curious, approachable and always ready for a good conversation. This is what I believe makes me well-suited to my role here at GHE as I am always up for a long conversation which helps me find out what my tenants want and need. I also love problem solving and bringing a positive vibe to any situation, which I am very grateful for as those two go hand in hand when it comes to dealing with any disputes!
I currently live in a quiet and peaceful part of East London where it’s not too busy but there are good transport links into the rest of London. I love this area as it is very relaxed compared to central London and gives me a nice break from the business of my day. The people here are also very friendly and so the area has a real sense of community.

I have always been into property and knew that I wanted my career to somehow reflect this, so when I got an internship during Uni at a UK-based Chinese real estate agency I knew that it would be a great introduction to the industry. This is where I truly fell in love with the profession.
After graduating, I joined GHE to better hone my skills as an estate agent. This has definitely paid off as I have had the opportunity to work with a broader range of clients and handle more aspects of the lettings process. I have only been a part of this team for a few months, but already they have helped me develop a deeper understanding of the market and improve my expertise in matching people to properties.
Working as a lettings agent has been an incredible experience so far—but it hasn’t been without its challenges. One particular deal still stands to me. I had found the perfect tenant for a property – it truly was a match made in heaven. The tenant loved the place, the landlord was happy with them, and everything seemed to be falling into place.
Then, we hit a snag. The tenant’s ideal move-in date didn’t align with the landlord’s schedule. Just like that, the whole deal was hanging by a thread. I could see it slipping away, but I wasn’t about to let that happen—not when I knew this was the right fit and that there would be a lot of regrets if it did not happen.
Instead of accepting defeat, I put my problem-solving skills into action. I worked closely with both parties, negotiating, reassuring, and finding common ground. Bit by bit, we inched toward a compromise. Finally we had a breakthrough— the landlord adjusted his schedule, the tenant agreed to move their plans around, and the deal was sealed.
Another challenge overcome, another happy tenant, and another reminder that in this business, a little creativity and determination can make all the difference.

When I have free time outside of work, I like to visit different football stadiums across London to watch live football matches and relax. The atmosphere always seems to be able to make me unwind and enjoy being in the present moment. However, please don’t ask me which team I support because I don’t support any! I just like watching the games without feeling any pressure of who will win.
I think what sums me up as an agent is my ability to listen and adapt. I take the time to really understand what both my clients and landlords need and I always work with both of their best interests in mind. Whether it’s solving problems on the fly or keeping things running smoothly, I am always ready to go the extra mile.
