19 December 2018 – the day my life changed forever.

It was the day I arrived in London from Romania, ready to embrace the unknown and build a new life in this vibrant city. I’ve always considered myself a people person—friendly, open, and endlessly adaptable—but moving to a new country is never easy. Luckily, I had lifelong friends here who made the transition smoother, and just one month later, I found myself in my first interview with GHE. From the moment I walked in, I knew this was where I belonged—they loved me, I loved them, and my UK adventure had truly begun.

When I finished college, I went straight into work. Back then, computers were the future of making money, and I had spent my time in college studying IT. However, unlike the stereotypical tech professional, I was always quite social and loved chatting with everyone, which set me apart. Once I graduated, I went looking for jobs within the IT industry, not realising that my future career would be in real estate.

Being Head of Lettings is incredibly rewarding but also comes with its challenges. Firstly, trying to clear all my emails is a daily challenge! I pride myself on maintaining a fast response time to my emails so that no tenant or landlord is left with unanswered queries for too long. I also make it a priority to answer my colleague’s queries and assist them where needed so that at the end of the day everyone leaves the office feeling accomplished.

There have also been a few instances when someone would call with a complaint and would have to find a way to calm things down. I have always been able to de-escalate situations, and that skill has really come in handy for this new role.

Beyond work, I love to travel and discover new cities, always looking for my next adventure. Even after six years in London, I still find new places to explore, proving that this city never stops surprising me. Staying active is a big part of my life—I make time for the gym and enjoy attending different fitness classes. But what truly excites me is meeting and connecting with new people, hearing their stories, and sharing experiences.

Life in London has been an incredible journey, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
